SkanFest '20: Virtual Choir - From Beethoven, With Hope

  • Skaneateles Festival Skaneateles NY 13152 USA (map)

Virtual Choir Coordinator and Chorister

For the past 40 years, the Skaneateles Festival has presented world class music throughout the month of August, including performances by Hilary Hahn, David Zinman, Wynton Marsalis, and the Miro, Brentano, and Borromeo String Quartets.  This year the August season has been reimagined as a series of four Saturday evening tv/radio broadcasts on Syracuse's WCNY.  The final broadcast on August 29th will be a Beethoven celebration featuring the Ying Quartet as well as the finale of Beethoven's 9th symphony in Franz Liszt's arrangement for two pianos, with a terrific group of soloists and choir joining virtually from their own homes.  Artistic Directors Aaron Wunsch and Julie Bruskin are coordinating this collaborative recording project which we hope will bring our community together through the power of music (and some technological magic behind the scenes!)
